In the Name of Almighty Allah
The Holy Prophet of Islam (s.a.) said: “Ghadeer is a day in which Almighty God has perfected His religion, completed His blessings upon my people, and approved Islam as their religion.”
[Bihar al-Anwar: Vol. 97, P.110]

Celebration and promotion of the event of Ghadeer, elaborating the philosophy behind it, and struggling to make societies dedicated to the teachings of Ghadeer is a mission which all Muslim Shiite scholars, thinkers, and dignitaries have devotedly followed throughout centuries.
In the wake of the establishment of an Islamic Republic in Iran as a new governmental role model inspired by Ghadeer, and its repeated victories in different arenas is a call for all people around the world to follow this path; making the abovementioned mission a more important and double-valued responsibility.
The innate need of mankind for a perfect paradigm and the desire of oppressed nations for a way of emancipation and salvation on the one hand, and the virtues and merits of Imam Ali (a.s.) and his constructive guidelines for all communities on the other, makes this responsibility even heavier upon the shoulders of those who wish to establish a pious society inspired by divine values and Imam Ali
s lifestyle.
The ten days from Eid al-Adha to Eid ul-Ghadeer, called as the Ten Days of Wilayat and Imamate, is a good opportunity to organize a great and valuable movement to achieve Ghadeer
s goals and renew our allegiance to Imam Ali as the Master of the event of Ghadeer.
On this auspicious occasion of Ghadeer, the feast of perfection of religion and completion of divine blessings, the Ahlulbayt World Assembly extends its sincerest congratulations to Imam Mahdi and then to Ayatollah Khamenei and all Muslims especially the followers of Ahlulbayt (a.s.) worldwide, and wishes prosperity and all the best for you under the auspices of the first Imam of Shiites.

ABWA's statement in condemnation of new round of Muslim genocide in Myanmar

September 7, 2017 - 5:22 PM
(AhlulBayt News Agency) -The Ahlulbayt World Assembly has issued a statement in condemnation of the new round of Muslim genocide in Myanmar.

The full text of the statement is as follows:

In the Name of Allah, the Demolisher of Tyrants

In the deadly passivity of Western governments and their affiliated global institutions, a new round of attacks against Muslims has been launched in Rohingya in the Rakhine state of Myanmar.

Theinnocent Muslim community of Myanmar have been oppressed for long yearson the pretext of “not being a citizen of Myanmar”. During these heinous crimes committed by extremist Buddhists on the hands of Myanmar
s army and supported by the government of Myanmar, the oppressed Muslims are being killed or expelled from their residence with strange violence, and their houses, mosques and shops set on fire.

According to the latest official figures, only 400 casualties occurred in the last week, while over the past five years, hundreds of thousands have been directly massacred or drowned in the sea as a result of forced displacement. The Muslim population displaced from Myanmar is also estimated millions.

The Ahlulbayt World Assembly, as an organization witha membership of hundreds of Muslim elites from all over the world, calls the attention of all people around the world to the following points:

1. The essence of all religions is "monotheism", "morality", "love" and "peaceful coexistence of human beings". So any group or government who kills human beings and at the same time claims to be follower of any sect or religion, shall be considered a liar.

2. Citizenship rights of inhabitants of any landare among the primary natural rights of the people of each country, on which international conventions emphasize.

3. Even if a state, for any reason, does not recognize the citizenship of some people, it does not have the right to kill, burn, or expel them.

4. While many countries of the world are now embracing migrants and fugitives from war-torn areas, it is surprising that the Myanmar government is rejecting and slaying its people - who have been living in the land for decades- through inhuman and brutal methods.

5. Apart from extremist Buddhists, the role of "Takfirists" and "Wahhabis" should not be overlooked either. These terrorist groups, supported by the Petrodollars of some marginal Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, are dispersing hatred and Islamophobia in the world, having no mercy on Muslims, Christians, Buddhists and followers of any religion. They are actually puppets of Zionists, stirring up turmoil and fanning the fire of conflict between Muslims and Buddhists.

6. The US government and the rest of arrogant powers, who, with a small amount of violence from extremist Muslims, voice their protests all over the world, have remained silent or inactive against many years of brutal genocide in Myanmar, and continue to express ineffective words and adopt double standard stances.

7. We call on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and Muslim governments to prevent the continuation of genocide by pressuring the Government of Myanmar and human rights organizations. As "Imam Khamenei" stated in his Hajj message: "Defending oppressed Muslim minorities, like the innocent people of Myanmar, is a task of the Heads of Islamic countries and all political, religious and cultural elites ofMuslim World."

8. While warning the Myanmar government of the consequences of these crimes, we invite the parties to peaceful dialogues and resolving the crisis within the framework of ethical standards and international laws.

9. We also appeal to freedom-loving and Muslim people throughout the globe to voice their protests in various ways; maybe there is a conscience which is still awake and can prevent the oppression on humankind in the name of religion.

“Those who were expelled from their homes unjustly, only because they said,
Allah is our Lord; and…had not Allah repulsed the people from one another, ruin would have befallen the monasteries, churches, synagogues and mosques in which Allahs Name is much invoked. Allah will surely help those who help Him. Indeed Allah is all-Strong, all-Mighty”.
(The Holy Quarn: Surah al-Hajj: Verse 40)

Imam Khamenei demands immediate end to domestic wars in Islamic countries in his Hajj 2017 message

August 31, 2017 - 1:51 PM
(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei issues a message on the occasion of the Muslim Hajj pilgrimage season.
Imam Khamenei's Hajj 2017 message:

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and peace and greetings be upon our Master Muhammad
the Final Prophet upon his immaculate household and upon his chosen companions

I thank God Almighty for bestowing, this year as well as previous years, the blessing of performing hajj on an abundant number of believers from throughout the world so that they can benefit from this refreshing and blessed spring and so that they can be in the vicinity of God Almighty's House engaging in worship, supplication, dhikr (remembering God) and taqarub (seeking closeness to God) on days and nights whose precious and auspicious hours can touch hearts and purify and ornament souls like a miraculous medicine.

Hajj is a mystifying act of worship, a holy dwelling, a position full of divine blessings and an embodiment of Allah the Exalted's signs and symbols. Hajj can help pious, humble and wise servants of God achieve spiritual positions. It can make them become lofty and enlightened individuals. It can make them become insightful and courageous elements who are prepared to take action and engage in jihad (endeavor for the sake of God). Both spiritual, and political, individual and social aspects are completely outstanding and visible in this unique obligation and today the Muslim community is in dire need of both of these aspects.

On the one hand, the magic of materialism is busy beguiling and annihilating by using advanced instruments and on the other hand, the policies of the system of domination are instigating sedition and fueling the fire of discord among Muslims and turning Islamic countries into a hell of insecurity and disagreement.

Hajj can be a cure for both of these grave maladies that the Islamic Ummah is suffering from. It can purge hearts of impurities and enlighten them with the light of piety and understanding, it can open eyes to the bitter realities of the world of Islam, it can strengthen one's determination in order to confront those realities, it can make one's steps firm and it can prepare hands and minds.

Today, the world of Islam is suffering from insecurity: moral, spiritual and political insecurity. The main factor behind this is our negligence and the brutal invasion of the enemies. We Muslims have not carried out our religious and our rational duties in the face of the invasion of the vicious enemy. We forgot to be both "Strong against unbelievers" and "Compassionate among one another" [The Holy Quran, 48: 29].

The result of this is that the Zionist enemy is provoking sedition in the heart of the world of Islam's geography while by ignoring the definite duty of saving Palestine, we Muslims are busy with domestic wars in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya and Bahrain and with confronting terrorism in Afghanistan, Pakistan and the like.

The heads of Islamic countries and political, religious and cultural personalities in the world of Islam have heavy responsibilities on their shoulders: the responsibility of creating unity and preventing everyone from tribal and denominational conflicts, the responsibility of informing nations of the enemy's methods and the treachery of arrogance and Zionism, the responsibility of equipping everyone for the purpose of confronting the enemy in the various arenas of hard and soft wars, the responsibility of urgently preventing catastrophic incidents in Islamic countries - the bitter example of this today being the affairs in Yemen which are a source of sorrow and protest- the responsibility of offering determined support for the oppressed Muslim minorities such as in Myanmar and other such minorities, and most importantly the responsibility of defending Palestine and offering unconditional cooperation and assistance to a people who have been fighting for their usurped country for nearly 70 years.

These are important responsibilities which fall on our shoulders. Nations should demand these from their governments and outstanding personalities should try to achieve them with firm determination and pure intentions. These tasks are the complete embodiment of helping God's religion which will definitely be followed by divine assistance on the basis of God's promise.

These are the lessons of Hajj and I hope that we can understand and act on them.

I ask God to accept your hajj. I would like to commemorate the martyrs of Mina and Masjid al-Haram and I ask God the Beneficent and the Generous to raise their positions.

Greetings be upon you and Allah's mercy

Sayyid Ali Khamenei

Statement of ABWA on heinous genocide, abduction in Afghanistan

August 14, 2017 - 1:45 AM
(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Two painful incidents occurred in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan with a five-day interval, leaving a stain of shame on the forehead of perpetrators.
Read the statement as follows:

In the Name of Almighty God, the Demolisher of Tyrants

Two painful incidents occurred in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan with a five-day interval, leaving a stain of shame on the forehead of perpetrators.

On August 1st, two suicide bombers attacked worshipers in the Shiite mosque “Javadia” in the southern city of Herat, first shooting at the worshipers and then detonating themselves inside the mosque. The terrorist attack left at least 29 martyrs and 64 wounded.

Then on August 4th and 5th, Takfirist groups arranged heavy attacks on the Mirza Valang district in the province of Sar-e Pol, Afghanistan, which claimed 60 martyrs from among innocent Shiite Muslims and resulted in kidnapping 47 young women.

The two incidents followed a series of crimes targeting defenseless citizens in different parts of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and Syria.

Obviously, we cannot hope for international institutions and human rights organizations to confront these criminals as they are taking their policies and orders from superpowers who are equipping the terrorists with weapons and armaments to attack civilians.

Therefore, we would like to address Muslim grand clerics, Ulama, intellectuals, political parties and the government of Afghanistan, who are addressees of this noble Islamic hadith: “Any Mo
min (believer) who refuses to help his brothers - while he has the power and ability to do so - Almighty God will stop helping him in this world and in the hereafter”.

Jihad (holy defense) against one of the two superpowers of the time by brave Afghan people and a round-the-clock fight against Taliban mercenaries proves that if  “Muslim clerics”, “popular personalities” and “Jihadist movements” of Afghanistan will, they can surely overcome infidel terrorists who disturb the tranquility and prosperity of this oppressed state; the same process through which Iraq succeeded to destroy the bloodthirsty terrorists, who had occupied half the country's territory, with the leadership of Grand Ayatollah Sistani and self-sacrifice of its young combatants.

While extending its condolences to the family members of martyrs in Herat and Mirza Valang, the Ahlulbayt World Assembly urges all those who are able to take effective measures for eradicating the roots of terrorism in Islamic lands to do something before it would be too late.

And the wrongdoers will soon know at what final place will end up.

The True Essence of Awaiting Imam  Mahdi (a.s.)

By:  Hojjat al-Islam  Mr. Salar

In the Name of Allah

Duties and responsibilities of Muntazir (i.e. those who are awaiting the return of Imam Mahdi peace be upon him) are highlighted in the Holy Quran and frequently expressed in the teachings of the Ahlulbayt school of thought and sayings of our Holy Prophet and Infallible Imams.
The main mission and responsibility of Muntazir has been underlined as preparing the groundfor the return of Imam Mahdi  may Allah hasten his reappearance.

A group of Islamic narratives indicate the importance and constructive impacts of Intizar (i.e.awaiting and expecting the return of Imam Mahdi). Some examples are as follows:

The Holy Prophet of Islam, peace be upon him and his Immaculate Progeny, has been quoted as saying: “The most virtuous deed of my people would be awaiting the return (of Imam Mahdi).”

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: “Expect and wait for the return of your Imam during night and day (all the time).”

Imam Ali (peace be upon him) said: “Expect the return (of Imam Mahdi) and do not despair of God
s mercy”.

Too much emphasis on laying the groundwork for the return of Imam Mahdi and highlighting divine rewards for those who are awaiting Imam Mahdi aims at encouraging Shiah Muslims to perform their task in preparing the ground for the reappearance of their Imam.
Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said: “Expecting the return of Imam Mahdi is actually
expecting the Islamic power. We should strive to help Islamic power be realized throughout the world and the ground be prepared for the return of our Imam.”

In some Islamic traditions we read: “Whoever prepares himself for the return of Imam Mahdi must be a true Muntazir”; that is, a Shia Muslim, who is expecting the return of his Imam, must be pious, avoid sins and disobedience to God, and adorn himself with righteousness and moral virtues in such a way that his behaviors and attitudes demonstrate the dignity and high position of a true Muntazir of Imam Mahdi.

Anyone in any position, whether being a teacher in the field of education, or a businessman in the field of trading, or a cleric in his religious and missionary position, or a government official, or anyone else, all must fulfil their duty efficiently in this regard and pave the way for the return of Imam Mahdi if they want to be considered as Shia Muslims who are truly waiting for their Imam.

At the present time, elaborating the culture of Mahdism is very essential in order to be able to confront deviations and evil tricksters who deceitfully claim to be Imam Mahdi.
In fact, the culture of Intizar, is a powerful tool among people for character-building, dynamism, and hope for a bright future.
Those who await the Savior of mankind as a promoter of justice and eradicator of injustice, must themselves fight against tyranny, oppression and injustice if they wish to be true followers of Imam Mahdi and support him in achieving his noble goals.
Therefore, one cannot claim to be truthfully expecting Imam
s reappearance while in practice he himself does not stick to guidelines and objectives of Imam Mahdi; because, according to a famous Islamic tradition: “Through him (Imam Mahdi), Allah will fill the earth with justice just as it was filled with injustice and tyranny”. Thus, the leading target of Imam would be implementation of divine laws and promotion of justice throughout the globe.

Imam Khamenei Condoles Demise of Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani

January 9, 2017 - 9:47 AM

Imam Khamenei revealed a message on the demise of Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani.
(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The following is the full text of the message delivered on January 8, 2017 by Imam Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, on the demise of Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani.

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

“To God We belong, and to Him is our return” [The Holy Quran, 2: 156]

It was with grief and regret that I received the news of the demise of my old friend, my comrade in arms and my associate during the Islamic revolutionary movement and my close colleague over the course of many years in the Islamic Republic era
Hujjatul Islam wal Muslimeen Hajj Sheikh Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.

The loss of a comrade in arms and associate with whom I had a 59-year experience of cooperation, harmony and collaboration is difficult and excruciating. What difficulties and adversities occurred to us in these decades and what cooperation and collaborations we had together in many periods of time on a common path that was marked by diligence, endurance and risk taking!

His abundant intelligence and his unique sincerity in those years was a reliable source of support for all those who worked with him, particularly for myself. Differences of opinion and varying “ijtehads” at certain stages of this long era could never break a bond of friendship whose starting point was in Bayn-ul-Haramayn [the area between the two shrines of Imam Hussein (a.s.) and Hazrat Abbas (a.s.)], in the holy city of Karbala. And the temptations of devils which were seriously and arduously trying to take advantage of those differences of opinion in recent years, could never influence his deep individual affection for this humble person.

He was a peerless example of the first-generation of fighters against monarchic oppression and he was one of those who suffered on this perilous and glorious path. Years of prison, endurance of SAVAK tortures and resistance in the face of all these and then crucial responsibilities during the Sacred Defense Era, the chairmanship of the Islamic Consultative Majlis and the Assembly of Experts and other such responsibilities are some of the bright pages in the eventful life of that old fighter.

With the loss of Hashemi, I know no other personality with whom I had such a common and long-term experience in the peaks and valleys of this historic era.

Now this old fighter is in the presence of divine accounting with a performance sheet which is filled with diligence and various activities and this is the fate of all of us officials of the Islamic Republic.

I beseech God from the bottom of my heart to bestow His forgiveness, mercy and clemency on him and I express my condolences to his dear wife, to his children and brothers and to his relatives.

s forgiveness be upon us and upon him

Sayyid Ali Khamenei

ABWA's message of condolence:

Hashemi's name is one with Islam, Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution; He will not be forgotten in heavens

January 9, 2017 - 8:50 AM

"Among the believers are men true to what they promised Allah . Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow [to the death], and among them is he who awaits [his chance]. And they did not alter [the terms of their commitment] by any alteration" Surah Al-Ahzab [33:23]
According to Ahlul Bayt News Agency
ABNA Ahlul Bayt World Assembly has issued a statement of condolence on the occasion of Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani's passing away.
In parts of the statement it is mentioned, "His courage during his years of exile and imprisonment, his perseverance in following Imam Khomeini, pioneering the support of Palestine and Lebanon, his efforts in establishing Islamic Revolution, resistance against sedition and division, his efforts in frontlines, and his enlightenment on Friday Prayers were soothing to the hearts of people. His many services carved and wrote the pages of Islamic Revolution".
The full text of the statement is as follows:

Surah Al-Ahzab [33:23]
Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani's passing away broke our hearts, who was a revolutionist, a warrior, Imam Khomeini's friend, and Imam Khamenei's comrade both before the Islamic Revolution and after that.
Hi passing away was coincided with the anniversary of Qom's uprising against tyranny of the monarchy and martyrdom of "Amir Kabir", which created a lasting occasion.
His courage during his years of exile and imprisonment, his perseverance in following Imam Khomeini, pioneering the support of Palestine and Lebanon, his efforts in establishing Islamic Revolution, resistance against sedition and division, his efforts in frontlines, and his enlightenment on Friday Prayers were soothing to the hearts of people. His many services carved and wrote the pages of Islamic Revolution. Hashemi's name is one with Islam, Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution.
In addition to his political campaigns, and scientific and scholarly efforts, his support of the weak is among the not-so-well-known aspects of his character.
Also his pure dedication to the Holy Prophet and Ahlul Bayt (A) which was reflected in his speeches, was another significant aspect of his life. His efforts in breaking the restrictions in Baqi graveyard and his pictures in "Fatemi Fadak" will not ever be forgotten.
On the night of Fatemeh Ma'sumeh's passing away, Ahlul Bayt World Assembly extends its condolences to the Supreme Leader of Iran, Grand Ayatollahs, Iranian people, and his family for the loss of such a man.

It is noteworthy that Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani passed away in Tehran on Sunday, January 8th due to heart attack.

Przesłanie Przywódcy Rewolucji Islamskiej do młodzieży w krajach Zachodu

W imię Boga Miłosiernego, Litościwego

Do młodzieży w krajach Zachodu,

Najeżdżane kraje, poza stratami ludzkimi, ponosiły straty w infrastrukturze gospodarczej i przemysłowej a ich perspektywy rozwoju zostały albo zatrzymane albo spowolnione.

Wiarygodne źródła historyczne jasno ukazują, w jaki sposób połączenie kolonializmu z myśleniem skrajnym i nieakceptowalnym, zwłaszcza w prymitywnym środowisku plemiennym, zasiało ziarno ekstremizmu w tym regionie.

W każdym razie to Wy powinniście poddać analizie jedne po drugich widoczne warstwy i struktury waszego społeczeństwa a następnie zidentyfikować i zlikwidować złogi kompleksów i złości.

Imam Khamenei Writes New Letter to Western Youth

November 29, 2015 - 6:01 PM
Source : Agencies

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Sunday sent a second letter in less than a year to the youth in the Western countries, following the recent terrorist attacks in France.

What follows is Ayatollah Khamenei
s new letter:

In the Name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

To the Youth in Western Countries,

The bitter events brought about by blind terrorism in France have once again, moved me to speak to you young people. For me, it is unfortunate that such incidents would have to create the framework for a conversation, however the truth is that if painful matters do not create the grounds for finding solutions and mutual consultation, then the damage caused will be multiplied.

The pain of any human being anywhere in the world causes sorrow for a fellow human being. The sight of a child losing his life in the presence of his loved ones, a mother whose joy for her family turns into mourning, a husband who is rushing the lifeless body of his spouse to some place and the spectator who does not know whether he will be seeing the final scene of life- these are scenes that rouse the emotions and feelings of any human being. Anyone who has benefited from affection and humanity is affected and disturbed by witnessing these scenes- whether it occurs in France or in Palestine or Iraq or Lebanon or Syria.

Without a doubt, the one-and-a-half billion Muslims also have these feelings and abhor and are revolted by the perpetrators and those responsible for these calamities. The issue, however, is that if today
s pain is not used to build a better and safer future, then it will just turn into bitter and fruitless memories. I genuinely believe that it is only you youth who by learning the lessons of todays hardship, have the power to discover new means for building the future and who can be barriers in the misguided path that has brought the west to its current impasse.

It is correct that today terrorism is our common worry. However it is necessary for you to know that the insecurity and strain that you experienced during the recent events, differs from the pain that the people of Iraq, Yemen, Syria and Afghanistan have been experiencing for many years, in two significant ways. First, the Islamic world has been the victim of terror and brutality to a larger extent territorially, to greater amount quantitatively and for a longer period in terms of time. Second, that unfortunately this violence has been supported by certain great powers through various methods and effective means.

Today, there are very few people who are uninformed about the role of the United States of America in creating, nurturing and arming al-Qaeda, the Taliban and their inauspicious successors. Besides this direct support, the overt and well-known supporters of takfiri terrorism- despite having the most backward political systems- are standing arrayed as allies of the west while the most pioneering, brightest and most dynamic democrats in the region are suppressed mercilessly. The prejudiced response of the west to the awakening movement in the Islamic world is an illustrative example of the contradictory western policies.

The other side of these contradictory policies is seen in supporting the state terrorism of Israel. The oppressed people of Palestine have experienced the worst kind of terrorism for the last sixty years. If the people of Europe have now taken refuge in their homes for a few days and refrain from being present in busy places- it is decades that a Palestinian family is not secure even in its own home from the Zionist regime
s death and destruction machinery. What kind of atrocious violence today is comparable to that of the settlement constructions of the Zionists regime?

This regime- without ever being seriously and significantly censured by its influential allies or even by the so-called independent international organizations- everyday demolishes the homes of Palestinians and destroys their orchards and farms. This is done without even giving them time to gather their belongings or agricultural products and usually it is done in front of the terrified and tear-filled eyes of women and children who witness the brutal beatings of their family members who in some cases are being dragged away to gruesome torture chambers. In today
s world, do we know of any other violence on this scale and scope and for such an extended period of time?

Shooting down a woman in the middle of the street for the crime of protesting against a soldier who is armed to the teeth- if this is not terrorism, what is? This barbarism, because it is being done by the armed forces of an occupying government, should not be called extremism? Or maybe only because these scenes have been seen repeatedly on television screens for sixty years, they should no longer stir our consciences.

The military invasions of the Islamic world in recent years- with countless victims- are another example of the contradictory logic of the west. The assaulted countries, in addition to the human damage caused, have lost their economic and industrial infrastructure, their movement towards growth and development has been stopped or delayed and in some cases, has been thrown back decades. Despite all this, they are rudely being asked not to see themselves as oppressed. How can a country be turned into ruins, have its cities and towns covered in dust and then be told that it should please not view itself as oppressed? Instead of enticements to not understand and to not mention disasters, would not an honest apology be better? The pain that the Islamic world has suffered in these years from the hypocrisy and duplicity of the invaders is not less than the pain from the material damage.

Dear youth! I have the hope that you- now or in the future- can change this mentality corrupted by duplicity, a mentality whose highest skill is hiding long-term goals and adorning malevolent objectives. In my opinion, the first step in creating security and peace is reforming this violence-breeding mentality. Until double-standards dominate western policies, until terrorism- in the view of its powerful supporters- is divided into “good” and “bad” types, and until governmental interests are given precedence over human values and ethics, the roots of violence should not be searched for in other places.

Unfortunately, these roots have taken hold in the depths of western political culture over the course of many years and they have caused a soft and silent invasion. Many countries of the world take pride in their local and national cultures, cultures which through development and regeneration have soundly nurtured human societies for centuries. The Islamic world is not an exception to this. However in the current era, the western world with the use of advanced tools is insisting on the cloning and replication of its culture on a global scale. I consider the imposition of western culture upon other peoples and the trivialization of independent cultures as a form of silent violence and extreme harmfulness.

Humiliating rich cultures and insulting the most honored parts of these, is occurring while the alternative culture being offered in no way has any qualification for being a replacement. For example, the two elements of “aggression” and “moral promiscuity” which unfortunately have become the main elements of western culture, has even degraded the position and acceptability of its source region.

So now the question is: are we “sinners” for not wanting an aggressive, vulgar and fatuous culture? Are we to be blamed for blocking the flood of impropriety that is directed towards our youth in the shape of various forms of quasi-art? I do not deny the importance and value of cultural interaction. Whenever these interactions are conducted in natural circumstances and with respect for the receiving culture, they result in growth, development and richness. On the contrary, inharmonious interactions have been unsuccessful and harmful impositions.

We have to state with full regret that vile groups such as DAESH are the spawn of such ill-fated pairings with imported cultures. If the matter was simply theological, we would have had to witness such phenomena before the colonialist era, yet history shows the contrary. Authoritative historical records clearly show how colonialist confluence of extremist and rejected thoughts in the heart of a Bedouin tribe, planted the seed of extremism in this region. How then is it possible that such garbage as DAESH comes out of one of the most ethical and humane religious schools who as part of its inner core, includes the notion that taking the life of one human being is equivalent to killing the whole humanity?

One has to ask why people who are born in Europe and who have been intellectually and mentally nurtured in that environment are attracted to such groups? Can we really believe that people with only one or two trips to war zones, suddenly become so extreme that they can riddle the bodies of their compatriots with bullets? On this matter, we certainly cannot forget about the effects of a life nurtured in a pathologic culture in a corrupt environment borne out of violence. On this matter, we need complete analyses, analyses that see the hidden and apparent corruptions. Maybe a deep hate- planted in the years of economic and industrial growth and borne out of inequality and possibly legal and structural prejudice- created ideas that every few years appear in a sickening manner.

In any case, you are the ones that have to uncover the apparent layers of your own society and untie and disentangle the knots and resentments. Fissures have to be sealed, not deepened. Hasty reactions is a major mistake when fighting terrorism which only widens the chasms. Any rushed and emotional reaction which would isolate, intimidate and create more anxiety for the Muslim communities living in Europe and America- which are comprised of millions of active and responsible human beings- and which would deprive them of their basic rights more than has already happened and which would drive them away from society- not only will not solve the problem but will increase the chasms and resentments.

Superficial measures and reactions, especially if they take legal forms, will do nothing but increase the current polarizations, open the way for future crises and will result in nothing else. According to reports received, some countries in Europe have issued guidelines encouraging citizens to spy on Muslims. This behavior is unjust and we all know that pursuing injustice has the characteristic of unwanted reversibility. Besides, the Muslims do not deserve such ill-treatment. For centuries, the western world has known Muslims well- the day that westerners were guests in Islamic lands and were attracted to the riches of their hosts and on another day when they were hosts and benefitted from the efforts and thoughts of Muslims- they generally experienced nothing but kindness and forbearance.

Therefore I want you youth to lay the foundations for a correct and honorable interaction with the Islamic world based on correct understanding, deep insight and lessons learned from horrible experiences. In such a case and in the not too distant future, you will witness the edifice built on these firm foundations which creates a shade of confidence and trust which cools the crown of its architect, a warmth of security and peace that it bequests on them and a blaze of hope in a bright future which illuminates the canvass of the earth.

Przesłanie Ajatollaha Chamenei do Młodych na Zachodzie

W imię w imię Allacha Miłosiernego i Litościwego

Do wszystkich młodych ludzi w Europie i Ameryce Północnej

Podczas, gdy w historii Europy i Ameryki widzimy liczne przykłady niewolnictwa i nieszlachetnego kolonializmu, prześladowań rasowych i religijnych. Badacze i historycy dogłębnie wyrażają swój wstyd i zakłopotanie, opisując liczne przelewy krwi, jakie miały miejsce w imię obrony religii, między katolikami a protestantami, bądź obrony narodowości i tożsamości podczas pierwszej i drugiej wojny światowej.

Szerzenie nienawiści i podniecanie fobii wobec Islamu i muzułmanów przybrało obecnie niespotykane nasilenie.

W dzisiejszych czasach, gdy środki łączności zburzyły granice geograficzne, nie pozwólcie by ograniczały was sztuczne psychiczne bariery. Nikt sam nie jest w stanie wypełnić raz stworzonych przepaści, lecz każdy z was próbując oświecić siebie i swe otoczenie, wznosi most idei i sprawiedliwości nad tymi czeluściami.

The Message of Iran Supreme Leader 'Ayatollah Khamenei' to the Youth in Europe and North America

Message of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Leader of The Islamic Republic of Iran to the Youth in Europe and North America

Message of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Leader of The Islamic Republic of Iran

In the name of God, the Beneficent the Merciful

To the Youth in Europe and North America,

The recent events in France and similar ones in some other Western countries have convinced me to directly talk to you about them. I am addressing you, [the youth], not because I overlook your parents, rather it is because the future of your nations and countries will be in your hands; and also I find that the sense of quest for truth is more vigorous and attentive in your hearts.

I don
t address your politicians and statesmen either in this writing because I believe that they have consciously separated the route of politics from the path of righteousness and truth.

I would like to talk to you about Islam, particularly the image that is presented to you as Islam. Many attempts have been made over the past two decades, almost since the disintegration of the Soviet Union, to place this great religion in the seat of a horrifying enemy. The provocation of a feeling of horror and hatred and its utilization has unfortunately a long record in the political history of the West.

Here, I don
t want to deal with the different phobias with which the Western nations have thus far been indoctrinated. A cursory review of recent critical studies of history would bring home to you the fact that the Western governments insincere and hypocritical treatment of other nations and cultures has been censured in new historiographies.

The histories of the United States and Europe are ashamed of slavery, embarrassed by the colonial period and chagrined at the oppression of people of color and non-Christians. Your researchers and historians are deeply ashamed of the bloodsheds wrought in the name of religion between the Catholics and Protestants or in the name of nationality and ethnicity during the First and Second World Wars. This approach is admirable.

By mentioning a fraction of this long list, I don
t want to reproach history; rather I would like you to ask your intellectuals as to why the public conscience in the West awakens and comes to its senses after a delay of several decades or centuries. Why should the revision of collective conscience apply to the distant past and not to the current problems? Why is it that attempts are made to prevent public awareness regarding an important issue such as the treatment of Islamic culture and thought?

You know well that humiliation and spreading hatred and illusionary fear of the “other” have been the common base of all those oppressive profiteers. Now, I would like you to ask yourself why the old policy of spreading “phobia” and hatred has targeted Islam and Muslims with an unprecedented intensity. Why does the power structure in the world want Islamic thought to be marginalized and remain latent? What concepts and values in Islam disturb the programs of the super powers and what interests are safeguarded in the shadow of distorting the image of Islam? Hence, my first request is: Study and research the incentives behind this widespread tarnishing of the image of Islam.

My second request is that in reaction to the flood of prejudgments and disinformation campaigns, try to gain a direct and firsthand knowledge of this religion. The right logic requires that you understand the nature and essence of what they are frightening you about and want you to keep away from.

I don
t insist that you accept my reading or any other reading of Islam. What I want to say is: Dont allow this dynamic and effective reality in todays world to be introduced to you through resentments and prejudices. Dont allow them to hypocritically introduce their own recruited terrorists as representatives of Islam.

Receive knowledge of Islam from its primary and original sources. Gain information about Islam through the Qur
an and the life of its great Prophet. I would like to ask you whether you have directly read the Quran of the Muslims. Have you studied the teachings of the Prophet of Islam and his humane, ethical doctrines? Have you ever received the message of Islam from any sources other than the media?

Have you ever asked yourself how and on the basis of which values has Islam established the greatest scientific and intellectual civilization of the world and raised the most distinguished scientists and intellectuals throughout several centuries?

I would like you not to allow the derogatory and offensive image-buildings to create an emotional gulf between you and the reality, taking away the possibility of an impartial judgment from you. Today, the communication media have removed the geographical borders. Hence, don
t allow them to besiege you within fabricated and mental borders.

Although no one can individually fill the created gaps, each one of you can construct a bridge of thought and fairness over the gaps to illuminate yourself and your surrounding environment. While this preplanned challenge between Islam and you, the youth, is undesirable, it can raise new questions in your curious and inquiring minds. Attempts to find answers to these questions will provide you with an appropriate opportunity to discover new truths.

Therefore, don
t miss the opportunity to gain proper, correct and unbiased understanding of Islam so that hopefully, due to your sense of responsibility toward the truth, future generations would write the history of this current interaction between Islam and the West with a clearer conscience and lesser resentment.

Hon. Hujjatul-Islam Mr. Akhtari
Secretary General of the Ahlulbayt World Assembly

Salam alaikum
Formulation of prayer timetables in European countries, especially those which are close to
North Pole, has ever faced with problems; therefore, based on different observations and
calculations, various prayer timetables have been produced by Shiite centers and mosques in
such countries.
In order to reach a unified determination, a number of scientific delegations from the Institute of
Geophysics, University of Tehran, were dispatched to the abovementioned areas. The results of
accurate investigations are as follows:

1- In areas where natural fajr (normal dawn or daybreak) exists (that is, darkness exists
even for a short period of time), the time for FAJR will be when the distance of
the sun
from the
horizon circle reaches 17.7.
2- However, in areas where natural fajr does not exist (that is, it never gets dark completely,
which is called
White Nights), FAJR TIME will be determined as follows:

a. According to Fatwa (religious decree or judgment) of some of Shiite Grand
Ayatollahs including Ayatollah Khameni, in such areas, the maximum intensity of
light must be taken into consideration as a criterion.
b. According to the astronomical observations of the abovementioned delegations,
the time for IMSAK (abstaining from eating to start fasting, for example in Holy
Ramadan) will be astronomical MIDNIGHT (that is, 12 hours after noon prayer
time); and, 30 minutes after that will be the time for FAJR PRAYER.

So it would be appropriate to adjust all prayer timetables of Shiite centers in London and other
European countries (whether in south or north of Europe up to the North Pole) based on the
abovementioned observations only.

Head of Department for International Affairs
Office of Ayatollah Khamenei
